Even from the A17 motorway, you can see a dome towering above the meadows and, if you look closely, you can see another one right next to it. They are the domes of The Basilica of Oudenbosch and the Chapel of Saint Louis. Two special locations in such a West Brabant landscape. The history of Oudenbosch goes way back but only really gets interesting when Willem Hellemons becomes parish priest in Oudenbosch. During his time as parish priest he changes Oudenbosch significantly. It enriches the skyline with the domes of the Basilica of Oudenbosch and Saint Louis. Religion plays an important role in Oudenbosch's history, that much is clear, but so does science in the form of the first Volkssterrenwacht, now Sterrenwacht Tivoli and education at Saint Louis and Saint Anna provided a huge boost to Oudenbosch.
