Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) is one of the greatest composers in music history, if not the greatest. Leo Wolfs takes you into the world of Bach and the masterpiece the St Matthew Passion. Why does this music continue to move and comfort us? What are its components? Perhaps after this lecture you will be able to attend a total performance of the St Matthew Passion. Location
The listening lecture will take place in the Cuyperszaal (under the Basilica - entrance via Pelgrim 2 on Doelpad) in Oudenbosch. The hall will open half an hour before the start. The lecture is twice an hour with a break during which there will be an opportunity for further discussion.
