Commemorate and celebrate with us!

October/November 2024 will mark 80 years since our towns of Bosschenhoofd, Hoeven, Oud Gastel, Oudenbosch and Stampersgat were liberated from the German occupiers. During World War II, the lives of our residents changed dramatically. After a period of fear and violence, the American 104th Infantry Division, nicknamed the Timberwolves, liberated the towns of Bosschenhoofd, Hoeven and Oudenbosch. The British 49th Infantry Division, also known as the 'Polar Bear Division' liberated the towns of Oud Gastel and Stampersgat.

Routes

Relive the liberation of the Netherlands with the Repatriation Route Oudenbosch. In the year 1945, the Netherlands was officially liberated from the German occupiers. A relief for Dutch people at home, but for many a long journey back from labour camps and concentration camps began. From September 2024 to June 2025, Halderberge will organise all kinds of activities for young and old aimed at remembering, realising, experiencing and celebrating our 80 years of freedom. These activities are not to be missed. Remember and celebrate with us!
