It started with Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers
This title refers to the issues that arose between Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) and his French painter friend Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) in Arles, southern France. What preceded the ear incident on Sunday evening 23 December 1888 at the Yellow House and its surroundings is telling. In 2008, the book Van Gogh's Ohr was released by two German (art) historians who took care of this event. They were very briefly world news, but disappeared into oblivion again just as quickly. And yet, they did very good research, fantastic actually! Claudia Koole, IRJ investigative journalist and digital art creator, elaborated on their research findings and found more, a lot more. Their conclusion became her hypothesis. She made her own study sketches of details to chronicle what non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the blockchain became as a new art movement. Her conclusion provides more insight, is a non-fiction story substantiated by multiple facts, circumstances and sources. In a documentary lasting over an hour, Claudia shows a very small part of her unique research story; after all, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin drew and painted this story, as code language, themselves. Phenomenal!
She spoke to several people who have been interviewed and appear in the documentary including Drs Lijnie Reijers (Orthopedagogue Generalist and MSc Trauma Therapist), Dr John van Schaik (Historian of Religion and Lecturer), Mr E.R. Butin Bik R.O.N. (Fencing Master and Criminal Lawyer) and Peter Langela (CEO Fluidensity.art). They speak objectively from their expertise.
