Book review 'The female brain'

Do you enjoy reading, engaging in conversation about social issues and learning from others? Then sign up for the book talk on 'The Woman's Brain' by author Iris Sommers on Wednesday, 13 November 2024.

About the book
Women do not have the same brain as men. Their brains are significantly smaller, and their cerebral cortex has as many as 17 per cent fewer nerve cells. Yet their ability to think is not inferior to that of men; how do they compensate for their smaller hardware? Iris Sommer paints the fullest possible picture of how and why our brains differ. Because there are more differences between the female and male brain. Personality and interest is (on average) different. Women have a different stress system, different hormones and a different immune system. How are these differences between the sexes caused, and what do they mean? What happens when someone changes gender? How does society treat girls and boys, women and men, and what could be done better?
