Chapel concert Marigold Piano Quartet
Inspired by the marigold, a flower known for its resilience and vibrant energy, the Marigold Piano Quartet brings warmth, colour and intensity to their performances. Founded in Amsterdam in 2022, the ensemble consists of Dutch violinist Ruña 't Hart, British viola player Connie Pharoah, Dutch cellist Kalle de Bie and Dutch-Chinese pianist Mengjie Han. Despite only being part of the chamber music scene for a short time, they have already left a strong impression with performances at the Concertgebouw and broadcasts on NPO Klassiek, among others.
The quartet embodies a passionate and sincere approach to chamber music, exploring repertoire from all eras. Their musical journey has been deeply influenced by the mentorship of Eberhart Feltz, whose guidance has played a key role in shaping their artistic voice. They have further refined their skills during master classes with world-renowned musicians such as Luc-Marie Aguera of the Ysaÿe Quartet and Marc Danel of the Danel Quartet.
All members of the quartet have earned their spurs, both as chamber musicians and soloists. They won prizes at the Liszt Competition, the National Cello Competition, the first prize 'Luigi Boccherini' of the Virtuoso & Belcanto Chamber Music Competition and the Kersjes violin scholarship, among others. They can also be heard in other formations such as the Amatis Trio, Brackman Trio and Sepia Quartet.
