It has been (too) long since we captured a film from the Previously unreleased programme at Film Museum Eye in Amsterdam. Also at Ghostlight don't get that the film didn't find a distributor in the Netherlands for a year, because that's the first requirement Eye imposed on itself in its policy with this series. Notably, the film that won the audience award(!) at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
It is not easy for tough construction worker Dan and his wife to raise their troublesome adolescent daughter. Moreover, there is a lawsuit against their late son Brian's ex-girlfriend who took his own life. When things get too much for Dan, the inside man can suddenly jump out of his skin tremendously.
By chance, he comes across a local theatre company, which is rehearsing Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' nearby. Can reluctant participation help him get family life back on track and deal with intense grief?
The roles of Dan, daughter Daisy and wife Sharon are played by the real-life Kupferer family.
