Where the ferry from Oud Gastel to Kruisland used to dock, you will now find Gastel Sfeer. A cosy brown café where you can pop in for a cup of coffee or a drink while cycling or walking, but also for lunch, dinner or a snack in between. The beautiful location on the Roosendaalsche Vliet and the view over Oud Gastel and the polders make Gastel Sfeer an attraction for day trippers and active people.
History
The Gastelsveer has been a household name in the region since 1791. Located along the Roosendaalsche Vliet on the Gastelse Dijk, it is a place where countless people crossed by ferry and later by horse tram. Even Queen Wilhelmina has been here during an inspection after World War II, in short a place full of history. You can feel that history everywhere, from the bar to the terrace. The Gastelsveer has been a staging point, resting place and meeting place for young and old for over 230 years!
Atmosphere doll
One of the most famous festivals in the region is Atmosphere doll. This is the annual highlight at Gastel Sfeer.
