Kapelconcert van het Young Talent Orchestra met medewerking van Preludio en Intermezzo. A true family concert by our regular youth orchestra; children up to 18 years old are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
Young Talent Orchestra
With the aim of introducing young talented musicians aged between about 12 and 18 to orchestral repertoire and the profession of orchestral musician, Codarts Rotterdam and Music Institute Hellendaal founded the Young Talent Orchestra (YTO) in 2013.
The orchestra, conducted by Mikhail Zemtsov, plays about 10 concerts a year. Varied programmes are performed - from Baroque to 21st century. Top young talents perform as soloists with the orchestra. On 1 May 2017, the YTO won first prize at the European Youth Music Festival in Neerpelt (Belgium); eighty youth orchestras from all over the world participated in this festival. On 26 May 2018, the Young Talent Orchestra won the audience prize at the National Competition for Youth Symphony Orchestras in De Doelen.
In recent years, the orchestra has performed in venues including the Doelen, the Grote or Laurenskerk (both Rotterdam) and the Grote Kerk (Schiedam), and they played at the Midsummer Festival at venue Pro Rege (Rotterdam) and at the open-air festival Klassiek op het Amstelveld (Amsterdam).
Het kapelconcert vindt plaats in de Kapel van Bovendonk, Hofstraat 8, 4741 AK Hoeven. De kapel gaat een half uur voor aanvang open. De locatie is rolstoeltoegankelijk.
