Bartók, Barber and Brahms

The award-winning Alma Quartet is an exciting string quartet from Amsterdam. Inspiring and connecting with a wide audience, they bring new inspiration to great chamber music repertoire. Actively exposing the genre to new audiences, Alma works adventurously with unconventional combinations, whether playing in packed nightclubs with top DJs or premiering bold new works with experimental composers.

Formed in 2014, Alma Quartet quickly gained a reputation as one of the Netherlands' most exciting ensembles. Their debut album Schulhoff Complete String Quartets received international acclaim. The Gramophone claimed "this set shoots straight to the top" and also admired the quartet for being "capable of the most seductive playing."
